We're coming to regen farming after long careers in law (Maree) and building (Dave). With long standing interest in the works of Bill Mollison (Permaculture), Peter Andrews ( Natural Sequence Farming) and Alan Savoury (Holistic Farm Management) by 2018, it was high time to stop reading and start doing. So, we bought a run down cattle property at Wolvi and have now set about putting thought into action.
Why do two people almost at retirement age make such a decision ? Our kids have certainly asked that question!
Simple - it's because we've got kids and grandkids . We're on a mission to make sure that the place we leave behind is a little more like the place WE knew as kids - where (generally) lean and healthy people knew their neighbours, grew and swapped food with them, and didn't need to consider the food miles travelled by the lactose free Peruvian yak milk they favoured in their artisanal coffee.
We've been producing quail eggs since 2017, and brought this microbusiness with us from our previous small farm in Logan. Our eggs are available now in a range of delicatessens, fruiterers and fine food stores. If you'd like to source some, drop us a line and we'll help locate your nearest supplier , or you can buy them on farm.
We're busy transitioning the conventionally managed herd of mix and match cattle that came with the farm over to a resilient grass fed organic herd , that will self select natural mineral supplements when needed, producing nutrient dense , flavourful beef . This will take a little time, but in the meantime, our girls will continue to help us improve our pastures , as they get used to the notion of rotational grazing.

We are happy to show you (and your kids) where food really comes from. Feel free to call to arrange a visit. Wear daggy clothes- we might put you to work!
